Poet's Note:
The white birch is the official tree of the Nagano region. Such trees are so beautiful--especially in the high, clear mountain sunlight--that we may sometimes give in to the impulse to walk around them--just to take in more of their beauty. It's only more whiteness that we see. Still, it's so beautiful, we want to see all of it.
